miculite perlite 1 1 inthe computer controlled greenhouse in 2000 and2001to determine the yieldand flower quality responses Allplantswere fedwith the same nutrientin an open soillesssystem Significant differences were found among ten cultivars andamong four substrates for yield and quality of cutflowers The resultsshow that five cultivars Black Beauty Dream Frisco Golden Gate Escimo were suitable for soilless cul ture their flower quality andyieldwere betterthan those of other cultivars Among four media rockwool grown cutroses demonstrated the bestyield and quality such astheyieldof Black Beauty was250 stems m2 in 10 month flushes then the peat andthe mixer coirwasthe last The effectofmediaonnutrientofcut rose leaves the physicaland chemicalpropertiesof differentmedia andthe
